Troubleshooting

If you can see your Pinnacle reports on your computer screen, but the printed version of your reports has strange characters and is not legible, please read this tip:

Operating systems windows 98 or older have problems printing certain PDF files. This is because of the Unicode character set used in the new pdf files. Windows 98 and older have problems with this character set.

We have seen this same problem on some newer operating systems as well. The following will typically fix any printing problem if you can see the report on your screen, but the report prints out in weird characters on your printer.

The remedy to the problem is to print the pdf file (Pinnacle Report) as an image. This is done differently depending on which version of Adobe Reader you are using. In most versions you click:

  1. File... Print
  2. Click the "Advanced" button
  3. Check the "Print File as Image" checkbox
  4. Click "OK"
  5. Click "OK" again to print
